Join us in celebrating how Jesus Christ has changed lives through the various ministries of Sheridan House. Whether it’s a child who’s life has been restored through our residential program, a single mom and her children who have been offered hope through our single parent ministry, or an individual or family who have broken through and free from an emotional/behavioral struggle through our counseling center; we give all the glory, honor, and praise to Jesus Christ for changed lives. He is the Way, Truth, and Light.
Thankful Hearts
The constant stream of 340 single moms coming to get their turkey and “fixin’s” at our annual Thanksgiving outreach was a joy to behold! One could see the look of relief and joy on the moms’ faces, knowing they would be able to provide a delicious meal for their children on Thanksgiving Day — all because someone cared to give! (more…)
Teens Give Back
When friends Angela Lugo (14 years) and Melina Nunez (17 years) walked through the door of Sheridan House this summer, everyone was so happy to see them. Escorted by Renee Weinstein, Angela’s grandma and a stellar volunteer of Sheridan House, both girls have served faithfully for our Back-to-School Event for the last five years. (more…)

I absolutely loved the career workshop with Ruth! She was inspiring, uplifting and funny. I have told so many people about her and how great the seminar was. - Nichol

Letter of Gratitude…
When I first came to Sheridan House, I was newly single with 3 children. I was scared and was stepping into the unknown of raising 3 kids on my own. I moved to Florida after I divorced to be closer to my parents because I knew that my mother would be my greatest help in raising my kids. Unfortunately, my mom passed in December 2010. It was then that my church introduced me to Sheridan House and I have never been so blessed. (more…)

Another Great Story…
Bubbling with excitement, Sarah told us that she was finally able to purchase her own home! She is a hard-working, single mom who faithfully serves the Lord full-time at her church. After years of working as a mentor in a discipleship group-home, Sarah was ready to move out and into her own home along with her children. She prayed and saved diligently for 5 years; and the Lord recently blessed her with a home that is beyond what she imagined! (more…)
Thanksgiving Blessings Wrap-Up
The constant stream of single moms coming to get their turkey and “fixin’s” at our annual Thanksgiving outreach was a joy to behold! On their faces one could see the look of relief and joy, knowing they would be able to provide a delicious meal for their children on Thanksgiving Day — all because someone cared to give! On Saturday, November 20, Sheridan House, along with 60+ volunteers, gave away much more than turkeys and groceries. We offered hope and encouragement to several hundred single moms through the love of Jesus. Don’t just take our word for it. Here is what one grateful mom said:

A few months ago, I attended the single parent classes on Godly Parenting. As a single parent of three very active children, the parenting insight Dr. Barnes shared was invaluable in the way of how to set goals for my kids and deter negative behavior.
