The Purpose of John’s Gospel

Knowing this Gospel will help us talk about Christ. Being the Gospel draws people to Christ. The gospel of John is written so that we would have life rather than just existence.

The Flock

The flock is God’s design to help individuals come together into a community that helps each other learn to distinguish the Shepherd’s voice. The flock metaphor gives a picture of how the church is supposed to stay together and work together for purposes of edification, encouragement, direction, safety, etc… Together the flock learns to follow the Good Shepherd.

The Vantage Point

The proper prospective can help you weather the storms of life.  Jesus has a better “Vantage Point” on our situation than we do, for the most part, we’re in the dark, but no matter how dark and dreary it appears out there, we are never alone.

Trust God – Just Do It

Life is going to contain disappointment and confusing times. The confusion or fear comes from trusting in my own perceptions or abilities. Trusting in God takes determination, faith is not a feeling it’s a focus.

Living with My Low Expectations

We settle for far short of what God can do when it comes to our prayers.  Could it be we don’t really know Who Jesus is?  When you live life expecting God to be God, you begin to live by faith rather than by far.
