Single Mom Receives a Donated Car
Have you ever had your car in the repair shop for days? If you were unable to afford a rental car, borrow a car from someone, or have a very good friend willing to be a chauffeur, you most likely experienced a great deal of frustration. The list of unending questions that undoubtedly run through your mind could easily overwhelm you. Questions such as: How will I get to work? How will I get the kids to school and pick them up on time? When will I be able to go to the grocery store? Will I need to cancel our various appointments? The list goes on and on.Often times, for a single mom it complicates matters even more.
Sheridan House is committed to assisting single moms at the point of their specific needs. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to help numerous single moms in the midst of a car dilemma. At times, many of them saw no other solution but to walk! With the help of wonderful friends who donate cars to our ministry, we are able to bless the single moms we serve with much-needed, reliable transportation. Here’s what one mom had to say:
“Sheridan House Family Ministries was a blessing to my son and me. Not only did we receive the gift of a well-running car, but with that gift came the care, compassion and love they have for single moms.
Before receiving this car, my way to work was very stressful since I didn’t know if my unreliable car was going to break down on the road or just stop for good. Car payments and mechanical repairs do not fit in a single mom’s budget. The car that Sheridan House gave me could not have come at a better time; it meant so much to me!
